Welcome! Please find below our terms and conditions of dissemination for both our academic journals and our consultancy report journals! These are designed to fully protect your rights in the usually lawless realm of cyberspace! A subscription to Electronic Journals Ltd. allows you access to all our services.

It is very important to realise that your subscription is not time limited in any way. Subscriptions only expire when you have downloaded articles which are equal in price to the original value you placed within your account.


Terms and Conditions for Consultancy report journals

(i.e. "Electronic Oil Exploration" and "International Risk Assessment")

Interpretation


1. In this Agreement the following expressions shall have the following meanings unless the context otherwise requires:

"PUBLISHER" means Electronic Journals Limited (registered in England under number 3089395) whose registered office is at 218 Eastfield Road, Southsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire PO4 9EW, England;

"SUBSCRIBER" means any party who subscribes to the Publ;sher's Internet subscription Service by completing and returning to the Publisher (either via the Internet,, fax or by post) the attached Subscription Form;

"SERVICE" means the online publication of specialist Works on the Internet via the services currently known as "Electronic Oil Exploration" and "International Risk Assessment";

"WORKS" means any reports (which may include diagrams and illustrations) published or to be published on the Service by the Publisher on the subject of geological oil basin modelling for various parts of the world.

Supply of Service

2. The Publisher agrees to provide the Service to the Subscriber subiect to this Agreement.

Method of supply

3. Works available on the Service are published individually. By subscribing to the Service payment is made for the particular Works which the Subscriber wishes to download.

4. To subscribe to the Service the Subscriber completes the Secure subscription form.

5. For on-line credit card payment, please use the Secure subscription Form. This should be sent to the Publisher either electronically via the Internet or by fax to 44 (0)1705 421752 or by post to the registered office.

6. After a subscription has been made, the Publisher will notify the Subscriber via the Internet, fax or post of its account number and account status. The account number and user name (issued by the Publisher) and password (selected by the Subscriber) will be required to access and download Works, up to the value of the payments made by the Subscriber. Invoices will be sent to the subscriber detailing all purchases made at regular intervals.

7. The Subscriber shall be entitled to use the Works as follows: temporarily displaying on a computer terminal a Work retrieved from the Service; by making hard or electronic copies of the Work in accordance with clause 8; and by downloading and storing by electronic means a copy of the Work on its equipment.

8. The Works may be used by the Subscriber only as follows:

9. The Subscriber shall procure that all its officers and employees and those of its subsidiary companies to whom the Works may be copied in accordance with clause 8 shall be aware of the terms of this Agreement and the copying restrictions hereunder.

10. All Works are subject to copyright and the Subscriber may not copy or redistribute (other than is permitted by this Agreement) or resell any Work without the prior written consent of the Publisher.

Charges

11. Articles are priced individually. The Charges appear on the Publisher's price list as amended from time to time. The Publisher may increase its Subscription Charges by giving 28 days' notice on the Internet.

12. The Subscriber may cancel this Agreement at any time before downloading Works. The balance of any Subseription Charges paid in advance will be refunded to the Subscriber (less a charge of £10 to cover administrative costs).

13. All Subscription Charges are exclusive of VAT (if applicable).

14. All subscription Charges shall be paid within 30 days of the date of the Publishers invoice. If the subscriber fails to to make any payment on the due date then, without prejudice to any other right or remedy the Publisher may suspend access to the Service and charge the Subscriber interest (before and after any judgment) on the amount unpaid, at the rate of four per cent per annum above Barclays Bank base rate from time to time, until payment in full is made.

Availability of Service

15. The Publisher shall use all reasonable endeavours to keep the Service in operation twenty four hours a day, seven days per week.

16. The Publisher may alter the contents or manner of presentation of the Service and remove any file (or any of its contents) or Work within the service either temporarily or permanently.

Intellectual property rights

17. The Copyright in all literary works comprising the Service is owned by the authors of the Works. The Subscriber acknowledges that its permission to use the Works is limited to the rights expressly conferred by this Agreement.

Liability

18. The Subscriber acknowledges to the publisher that the publisher makes no express or implied warranties about the accuracy or fitness for particular purpose of the Service or the Works.

19. The Publisher shall have no have no liability to the Subscriber in contract tort or otherwise for any loss or damage which the Subscriber may suffer (whether direct consequential or any other form of loss) as a result of any error or inaccuracy in the Service or the Works or as a result of subscribing to the Service or of any failure on the Publisher's part to provide the Service.

20. Any views expressed in the Works are the views of the authors of such Works and not the views of the Publisher. The Subscriber acnowledges that the way in which it interprets or uses the Works is dependent upon its own skill and judgement.

Termination

21. This Agreement may be terminated by the Publisher at any time by giving to the Subscriber not less than 7 days' notice in writing and a full refund of all Subscription Charges in credit on the Subscriber's account with the Publisher.

22. Termination of this Agreement shall not affect any obligation by either party to the other which are effective at the date of termination nor any of the provisions of this Agreement which are expressed to survive termination.

General

23. This Agreement contains the whole agreement between the parties and supersede any prior written or oral agreement.

24. If any provision of this Agreement is declared by any competent authority to be void, voidable, illegal or otherwise unenforceable the remaining provisions of this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.

25. This Agreement is be governed by English law in every particular including formation and interpretation and shall be deemed to have been made in England and the parties agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

26. This Agreement may only be modified with the express agreement of the Publisher.


Terms and Conditions for Academic Journals

Electronic Journals Limited is a UK registered company (reg. number 3089395) whose registered office is at 218 Eastfield Road, Southsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire P04 9EW. We are involved in the on-line publication of specialist articles on the Internet via certain academic journals, including "Electronic Geology" and "Electronic Medicinal Chemistry". You may subscribe to this Service by completing and forwarding to us the secure subscription form.

Supply of Service

1. We agree to provide our on-line computer journal article service ("the Service") to you and by sending the subscriber form to us (either via the Internet, fax or by post) you agree to subscribe to the Service upon and subject to these terms and conditions.

Method of supply

2. Articles available via our Service are published individually. By subscribing to our Service you pay in advance for the particular Articles you wish to download from the Service.

3. In order to open an account with us you will need to make payment to us in advance in sterling or US dollars, either by international cheque or by credit card. Submit the Secure subscription form electronically or alternatively fax it to 44 (0) 1705 421752. (For on-line payment, please use the Secure form if you are concerned about on-line security.)

4. On receipt of the Subscription Form and payment by you, we will notify you via the Internet of your unique account number and account status. You will need the account number and your password to access Articles and to download them. We will issue you with a user name, but you will be free to choose your password on the subscription form.

5. Once you have established an account with us you may download Articles up to the value of Subscription Charge payments made by you. Your subscription only expires when the remaining value of your account is reduced to zero. (i.e. there is no time limit to your subscription.)

You may make copies of the Articles as follows:

(a) by making one hard copy of the Article by downloading and printing it.

(b) storing by electronic means one copy of the Article on your own equipment.

Charges for articles may be amended from time to time. We may increase our charges by giving 28 days' notice on the Internet.

The current charges for a particular article are displayed on our pages detailing document retrieval.

6. If you require multiple downloads, these will charged at multiples of the price given.

These additional copies of articles are transferable to colleagues on the provision that no further copies of the article may be made by them.

7. You may only use copies of the Article for the purposes of internal research by you and your employees.

8. All material provided to you is copyright, which means that you may not redistribute or resell any Article without our prior written consent. (See point 6 above for the sole exception to this clause as regards the making of multiple copies and their redistribution).

9. Subscribers with accounts with values which give the right to download or reproduce between 50-99 single articles, five single articles can be downloaded free of charge. Subscribers with account values which give the right to download over 100+ articles, 20 single articles can be downloaded free of charge after the expiry of the subscription.

Subscription Charges

10. The minimum subscription fee is £11.50. Above this amount, subscription charges are entirely at the discretion of the subscriber.

11. You have the right to cancel this Agreement at any time. The balance of any Subscription Charges you have paid in advance will be refunded to you, minus a small administration charge.

13. We may alter the contents or manner of presentation of the Service and remove any file (or any of its contents) within the Service either temporarily or permanently.

14. Problems experienced by a subscriber in the downloading of requested articles should be reported to us as soon as possible. Subject to investigation, the subscribers account balance will be restored to its value immediately prior to the problem occurring.

Intellectual property rights

15. The Copyright in all literary works comprising the Service is owned by us or by the authors. You acknowledge that your permission to use those copyright works is limited to the rights set out in these terms and conditions.

Liability

16. We will have no liability to you in contract tort or otherwise for any loss or damage which you suffer (whether direct consequential or any other form of loss) as a result of any error or inaccuracy in the Service or as a result of subscribing to the Service or of any failure on our part to provide the Service.

17. The views expressed in the Articles are those of the authors.

18. We may terminate this Agreement at any time by giving to you not less than 7 days' notice in writing and a full refund of all Subscription Charges paid by you.
